Bhutan Telecom humbled yet again

K4 Cup: In the ongoing Bhutan Super League cricket tournment, Bhutan Telecom suffered yet another defeat on Sunday while on Saturday, Tashas United defeated Paro United setting numerous records in the process.

Let by opener Dorji Khandu, who scored 57 runs, Tashas United went to set a new record by putting up a total of 443 in 50 overs losing just five wickets in the process.

Ugyen Tenzin, Damber Gurung and Tenzin chipped in with 70, 44 and 49 runs respectively. But the pick of the batsman went to Rakesh who scored the fastest 100 in Bhutan’s 50 over cricket history. His scored 102 runs from just 45 balls.

Paro United were bowled out for 160 runs in 24.5 overs. Only Phub Thinley with his 29 runs managed to make some meaningful contribution. Tashas United’s Tenzin Wangchuk managed to notch up five wickets.

The massive win margin of 283 is another record set by Tashas United. Rakesh Pradhan with his 102 runs was adjudged the man of the match.

In yesterday’s encounter, True Warriors humbled Bhutan Telecom when they notched up a five-wicket victory. Bhutan Telecom was bowled out for a mere 105 runs. True Warriors’ Abinash Samal who was ultimately judged the man of the match picked five crucial wickets.

True Warriors managed to chase down the target of 106 runs in the 20th over.

Takin City will take on Youth XI and Bhutan Telecom will be looking to stay alive in the tournament when they face BYP cricket club on Sunday.
