Thimphu City FC thrashed Tensung FC 5-0 in the ongoing BoB Bhutan Premier League at the Changlimithang Stadium yesterday.

With the win, City takes the top position in the league with 16 points from six games.

Tensung suffered their third consecutive loss of the last four games. The team has only one point so far in the league.

City started building pressure on the soldiers from the get-go. Kencho Tobgay scored the first goal for the Cytizens in 31st minute following an assist from Dawa Tshering. Four minutes later, striker Nima Tshering headed to double their lead. Sherub Dorji made the assist.

Tensung resorted to a more defensive approach thereafter. However, the soldiers failed to stop the Cytizens when Nima Tshering scored his second goal three minutes before the half-time whistle. Choki Wangchuk and Dawa Tshering scored a goal each in the second half for City.

Meanwhile, in Punakha, Ugyen Academy defeated Paro United 3-2 on September 4. With 16 points from six games, Ugyen Academy currently stands in the second position on goal difference.
