Cricket: Takin City defeated Blue Diamonds by 56 runs in the opening match of the Bhutan Cricket Council Board (BCCB) Super League Thimphu 2016, at the Pelkhil oval in Thimphu yesterday.

Takin City made 277 runs (all out) in 40.1 overs, while the Blue Diamonds managed only 221 in 43.5 overs. City’s Dorji Khandu successfully completed his half-century and exited the game at 60 points. Kumar also hit his half-century (55 points) and Rekash made 42 runs. Arjun and Pema took three wickets each. Sunil of Blue Diamond made 67 points while Darjey and Arjun made 45 and 37 runs each respectively.

City’s Kumar Subba was declared the man of the match. A total of six teams are taking part in the competition organised by BCCB.
