Three undergraduate scholarship students were recognised by the Department of Adult and Higher Education (DAHE), Ministry of Education for their excellence and recognition at two international university and institute.

At the felicitation programme held yesterday, Advisor of the Interim Government to the Ministry of Education, Ugyen Chewang, felicitated the three students and congratulated them on their performances and achievements.

This was also to appreciate their hard work and to encourage future students to work harder.

The three students – Ngawang Tshomo, Pema Euden, and Sonam Lhamo returned with gold medal and certificates of excellence from the two international university and institute.

In 2013, Ngawang Tshomo was sent to pursue Bachelors of Urban Planning at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, India.

Ngawang Tshomo received the SPA gold medal for the Best Student of Bachelor of Planning Examination and Best Thesis of Bachelor of Planning Examination in 2017. She was also awarded the General Proficiency Prize for standing first in the Final Bachelor of Planning Examination. She graduated in 2017.

Another student Pema Euden pursued B.Sc. Mathematics at the University of Texas at El Paso, USA in 2014. The University awarded her the Academic and Research Excellence in Mathematics at the undergraduate level.

Pema Euden graduated in July this year.

Sonam Lhamo pursued B.Sc. Physics at the University of Texas at El Paso, USA in 2014. The University awarded her Academic and Research Excellence in Physics at the undergraduate level. Sonam Lhamo graduated in July this year.

A press release from DAHE stated that Pema Euden and Sonam Lhamo would serve as teachers.
