In recognition of his contributions towards Buddhism, the Tshugla Lopen Samten Dorji of the Central Monastic Body was honoured with the international Buddhist peace award last week in Bangkok, Thailand. He received the award from the Chairman of the World Buddhist Scout Council.

At a separate event in Bangkok, the Tshugla Lopen was also conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy, Morality, Theology, and Global Peace Promotion by the International University of Morality. The International University of Morality is a US-based university. The university offers Master and Doctorate degrees in professional and moral development.
