The Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) is conducting an investigation against the Thimphu police station’s officer-in-command (OC).

The OC, who was suspended a few weeks ago, was alleged of demanding sexual favours from girls and women involved in criminal cases.

Police refused to share information, claiming it is an internal investigation and asked Kuensel to “look for something interesting rather”.

Meanwhile, it was also learnt that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) detained a prosecutor of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) in Phuentsholing last month.

While both ACC and OAG refused to share any details, sources said the senior attorney was detained for alleged bribery.

A source said the prosecutor was alleged of taking about Nu 500,000 from a defendant in a case he was prosecuting. “When the defendant was investigated in a different case, ACC found money transferred to the prosecutor in the defendant’s phone.”
