Two police personnel were electrocuted and four others injured in Zawakha, Wangdue on August 11. The incident occurred at the Zawakha police compound.

According to police, four police personnel were helping the two electricians from Punatsangchu Hydropower Project II on the lampposts. The incident occurred when one of the wheels of the trolley, which has an attached ladder, got stuck in drain causing the trolley to topple on a live transmission wire. The deceased were police personnel aged 38 and 51.
