Two men from Chuzangang have been placed in facility quarantine on November 14 for allegedly crossing the border to sell a pair of bulls at a nearby Indian village last week.

The gewog administration learnt about the incident after a woman reported to the office that her bull went missing on Friday.

While the duo is yet to undergo the Covid-19 test, they are considered as primary contacts. An official from Gelephu central regional referral hospital said that 15 others, who came in contact with two of them are placed under home

quarantine.

Chuzanggang gup Sangay Tshering said it was difficult to monitor such activities in the gewog.

“Chuzanggang is separated from nearby Indian settlements in Assam by a thick cover. These activities are banned but people are continuing even today,”  he said.
