A 48-year-old man died when the bolero pickup he was travelling in veered about 150 metres off the road around 10am above Phokchiri in Serthi gewog, Samdrupjongkhar on February 15.

Two other passengers were evacuated to Jomotshangkha BHU-1 as they sustained minor injuries. The deceased and his friends were travelling to Timnali in Assam, India for shopping.

A 43-year-old driver suffered minor injuries on his stomach and hands. He is in stable condition.

The health officials said both the passengers were kept under observation and in stable condition.

The cause of the accident is not known. Jomotshangkha police are investigating the case.
