Ugyen Academy FC defeated Paro FC 2-1 in the ongoing BoB Bhutan Premier League at the Woochu Sports Arena in Paro yesterday.

Despite the home ground advantage, the Tigers were unable to secure the crucial three points. In an equally contended game, the first half ended goalless.

Following a miss-pass from defender Nima Tshering, Academy’s Phurpa Tenzin broke the deadlock in the 83rd minute. The lead was short-lived, however, as the hosts equalised three minutes later through Chencho Gyeltshen.

However, two minutes later, Academy’s Thinley Dorji scored the winning goal for the visitors in the dying minutes of the standard time.

One of the players from Ugyen Academy was shown yellow card.

With the win, Ugyen Academy leads league table with 19 points from seven games.

Thimphu City FC will take on Transport United at the Changlimithang Stadium tomorrow.
