To commemorate the 31st birth anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, the salang tendrel for the Waste Academy at Changjiji was held in Thimphu recently. 

Waste Academy is a project funded by Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation and managed by Clean Bhutan, in collaboration with National Housing Development Corporation. The construction would complete in about two years. 

The academy will educate the Changjiji community, which has more than 750 families, on how to reduce and manage their waste. The waste collected will be sold to larger industries for recycling.
