Disaster: A windstorm affected 35 houses including schools and lhakhangs in four gewogs of Pemagatshel on March 31. The incidents occurred at around 10pm.
Of the 35 houses, 27 were partially damaged, while five houses and a temple completely lost their roofs.
Dechenling gewog reported the most damages with two houses and a temple losing their roofs.
Another temple and 14 houses sustained partial damage to their roofs.
A roof of one classroom building in Mikuri primary school was blown off entirely. However, school administration said it would not affect classes.
No casualties were reported.
Dzongkhag administration and the disaster committee provided tarpaulin to the affected houses and the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan is assessing the damages for compensation.
A school academic block and two houses completely lost their roofs and partial damage to 11 roofs in Dungmin gewog was reported.
Yurung and Chokholing gewogs reported two houses with partial damage and another that lost its roof entirely.
