Crime: Bumthang police forwarded a drug trafficking case involving a 42-year-old woman to the Office of the Attorney General yesterday.

The woman was apprehended on July 7 following a tip off.

Police called her to the police station immediately after they received the tip off and searched her home. Police confiscated 144 pieces of Spasmoproxyvon capsules.

She confessed to the crime saying the substances were picked up from the Indian border town of Jaigaon.

Police said they received information that the woman was supplying the drugs to consumers in Chamkhar from a rented apartment above Chamkhar town where she lived.

The woman, a housewife, is from Jigmeling village in Sarpang. She is in Bumthang police custody.
