His Majesty The King granted citizenship kidu to 422 individuals. The recipients of the citizenship kidu took part in a ceremony at the Tashichhodzong to offer their Oath of Allegiance to the Tsawa Sum as Bhutanese citizens.

In an Audience to the beneficiaries at the Tendrel Thang of the Tashichhodzong, His Majesty said that all our differences are transcended by our common identity as Bhutanese. His Majesty said that being Bhutanese comes with the responsibility of participating in nation-building and ensuring a bright future for our children to inherit. 

In the ongoing process of granting kidu, His Majesty has granted citizenship to 20,866 individuals to date.
