The pass percentage of Bhutan Civil Service Examination (BCSE) dropped 1.27 percent this year from 95.3 percent in 2021. A total of 1, 667 graduates secured above 50 percent.

The Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) will recruit 651 new civil servants next year. The result was declared yesterday on the RCSC website.

This year, 1,800 graduates sat for the Bhutan Civil Service Examination (BCSE) written examination between October 7 and 9 followed by viva voce between October 19 and 27.





According to RCSC, the selection and placement will be conducted from December 19. “A separate announcement will be made on the RCSC website within 2 days of the declaration of the result.”

Rinchen Penjor, 29, second national topper under Dzongkha Category, said that the achievement was beyond his expectation. “This is the third time I am appearing BCSE and getting through makes me confident to serve my country better.”

Rinchen Penjor is a member of Kuenphel Entertainment of Visually Impaired at Hejo.

Tashi Norbu, 24, the national topper under the technical category said that it feels great to achieve success and he waits to specialise in his field of expertise in Bhutan. “The dream is to become an internationally competent legal professional.”




Chimi Wangmo, 22, said, “I am overjoyed to learn that I secured second place overall in the technical category. It has always been a dream of mine to join the civil service because it provides a platform for diversity and is also a great way to give back to society. I will work hard and with sincerity to serve my king and my country.”

The graduates have completed their studies from 100 different colleges and institutes based in 10 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cuba, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the UK, and the United States.

A total of 3,486 graduates registered for PE this year, out of which 1,826 qualified for the main exam.
