Mountain Hazelnuts launched its domestic hazelnuts sales at the Bhutan Innovation Forum in partnership with CSI Market Bhutan.

For now, the premium hazelnut products will be available exclusively at CSI Market outlets.

The Mountain Hazelnuts stated that while it is committed to exporting high-quality hazelnuts to international markets, the company recognises the importance of making locally grown hazelnuts accessible to the domestic market.

The CEO of Mountain Hazelnuts, Dr Sean Watson, said that the introduction of hazelnuts to Bhutan’s market is not just about providing a new food item but a part of a broader mission to promote sustainable farming practices and enhance the quality of life in Bhutan.

“Our vision is one that honours integrity, preserves Bhutanese culture, and fosters harmony between communities and the natural environment,” he said.

He said that hazelnuts will become one of Bhutan’s most recognised high quality and nutritious agricultural products around the world in the coming years. “It is crucial that hazelnuts are also embraced by the nation and integrated into the food culture to truly represent Bhutan abroad,” the CEO said.

Nearly every aspect of the product—from the hazelnuts to the packaging—reflects Bhutan’s cultural heritage and supports local agriculture. This initiative not only offers consumers a healthy and ethically produced food choice but also strengthens the local economy, according to the Mountain Hazelnuts.

The CEO of CSI Market, Sonam Chophel, said that the partnership with Mountain Hazelnuts is testament to the power of shared vision and collaborative effort.

“Together, Mountain Hazelnuts and CSI Market exemplify how impact-driven enterprises can pioneer a new economic model for Bhutan, one where prosperity is rooted in sustainability, collaboration, and shared success,” he said.
