After a 23-year woman from Kela in Trongsa tested Covid-19 positive yesterday, the entire chiwog will now be tested.

The chiwog has 59 households and around 186 people. 

The woman with her three-year daughter reached the village on December 16 for the annual ritual. Both of them were placed in the facility quarantine on December 22.

It was learnt that she came by Langthel bus and took a taxi to her village. Health officials are tracing her contacts. 

Her parents and the taxi driver are also put into a quarantine facility. The woman is in isolation in Mongar. There are 24 people in facility quarantine in Trongsa.

Dzongkhag Covid-19 taskforce placed Kela under strict surveillance and started collecting samples yesterday. The samples will be sent for RT-PCR test to Mongar today.

Meanwhile, the two new cases detected in Bumthang are the wife and the child of the Covid-19 positive man.

Bumthang reported four positive cases since December 22. There are over 50 people in facility quarantine in Bumthang.

Trongsa Health Officer Dorji Gyeltshen said that medicines are delivered to those patients who need to refill medicines.

In the gewogs, residents are asked to visit the BHUs in the respective zones following the health protocols.
