Thimphu police has detained the author of  Turning Point – A true story and Yangchhen, Pema Wangchuk,  for allegedly deceiving people.

He was arrested on August 18 after some people claiming to be victims lodged complaints against him at the Thimphu police station. He is accused for deceiving about eight people by offering them to be their legal representative and taking money from them. Sources said there are more than eight people who were swindled  money, but were not coming forward to report to police.

He was alleged to have received about Nu 0.5 million from the eight individuals. The author knew some of the victims, according to the police, while others were introduced to him by others he knew. 

The cases are being investigated.
