Director Arun Bhattarai won the Best Documentary Award at the International Mobile Film Festival for his one-minute film “Snow Lion and The Glaciologist” during the awards ceremony on World Climate Day in Paris on December 8.
Mobile Film Festival received 692 films from 92 countries and shortlisted 50 films from 34 countries for the awards ceremony.
Arun Bhattarai was awarded a 5,000 Euro production aid scholarship.
He said that he was going to use the grant price to edit his 20-minute documentary titled “ Mountain Man”. Snow Lion and The Glaciologist is an excerpt from Mountain Man.
The international film festival is committed to climate change issues, and the theme of the 17th edition is “Making Peace with Nature,” launched in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme.
Arun Bhattarai said that he heard about the film festival from his friend and the theme of the festival was in line with the current documentary- Mountain Man he is working on.
