Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) announced three candidates from Gasa and Trashiyangtse to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections last week.
Dhendup, 31-year-old is its candidate from Khamaed-Lunana constituency in Gasa. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from the Royal Thimphu College. A social worker and private businessman, Dhendup believes in the holistic development of Bhutan’s highland community. He also worked in the tourism sector.
While operating a private firm, he was also a member of the Youth Caring Committee (YCC), a social club that helps those who need care and assistance in the communities.
He also contested as a candidate for Druk Phuensum Tshogpa in 2018.
Namgay Dorji, 52, is BTP’s candidate from Khamdang-Ramjar constituency in Trashiyangtse. He has a Master’s degree in Leadership from the University of New England, Australia and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Samtse College of Education.
In his 27 years in the civil service where he began as a teacher and went on to become Deputy Chief Dzongkhag Education Officer and then the Dzongrab of Tsirang, and Paro dzongkhag where he served for nine years.
Namgay Dorji is from Khynid village under Toetsho Gewog and is married with two children.
So far, the party has declared 34 candidates to contest for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
