Bhutan Tendrel Party declared the party’s candidate for the Chhumig-Ura constituency of Bumthang for the fourth parliamentary election yesterday.
Tshering Lhadon, 42, graduated with both Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Science from the College of Natural Resources in Lobesa, Punakha.
With 19 years of experience in the civil service, Tshering Lhadon began her career as an Agriculture Extension Agent in the remote gewog of Serthi, Samdrupjongkhar in 2004.
Between 2010 and 2015, she served in Bumthang, her native dzongkhag as the Officiating Assistant Dzongkhag Agriculture Officer. She also took up additional responsibility as a Data Manager.
Before joining politics, she spent six years of her professional career as a potato researcher in the Bumthang Potato Programme office.
She has served mostly in remote areas and has vast knowledge and ideas about rural development and agricultural marketing, according to the BTP’s press release.
She is a mother of two.
With this, the party has declared 39 candidates so far.
