Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) announced Kinzang Wangchuk as its candidate from Dremedtse-Ngatshang constituency yesterday. 

The 51-year-old has a bachelor’s degree in technology from Acharya Nagarjuna University, India. He studied Civil Engineering at the Royal Bhutan Polytechnic Institute in Dewathang, Samdrupjongkhar. 

He began his career as a Section Officer in 1998 in Chhukha and then became the Assistant Engineer of Pemagatshel dzongkhag in 2005.

Kinzang Wangchuk was also the Project Coordinator of the Phuentsholing-Chamkuna road project and then became the Chief Engineer of the Department of Surface Transport in Samdrupjongkhar.

His contribution to road construction has set new standards of excellence which earned him opportunities for further studies and a meritorious promotion.

Between 2014 and 2019, Kinzang Wangchuk led the construction of the Dalbari-Dagapela secondary national highway.

He became the project coordinator of the South Asian Sub-Regional Economic Cooperation in Phuentsholing.

With this announcement, the party has declared 42 candidates to date.
