Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) has declared Sangay Thinley, 57, as its candidate for Pemagatshel’s Khar-Yurung constituency to contest for fourth National Assembly election.

Sangay Thinley has a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

He has been the civil service for more than 32 years.

He began his career in 1990 as an assistant protocol officer with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Later, he was transferred to the Royal Civil Service Commission, where he served as a fellowship officer and was subsequently elevated to the post of deputy chief human resource officer (HRO).

After serving with the Commission for 21 years, he went on to joing the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs as chief HRO.

Before joining the party, he served as the chief HRO for the Ministry of Health.

The party has declared 45 candidates so far.
