Bhutan Tendrel Party declared Loday Tsheten as the party’s Gangzur-Minjay candidate from Lhuntse to contest for the upcoming National Assembly elections.

The 48-year-old holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Edith Cowan University in Australia, and an Advanced Degree in Public Policy and Management from the Syracuse University in the United States. 

He started his career as an Assistant Budget Officer with the Department of National Budget in the year 2000.

Loday Tsheten was hand-picked to serve in the Anti-Corruption Commission that was newly established in 2008. 

Following a dedicated six-year tenure at the commission as System Analyst and investigation officer, he transitioned back to the Finance Ministry as the Chief Internal Auditor for the Internal Audit Service.

He served as the post of Director for the Department of National Budget in 2017.

He also served as the Chairman of the Board for Bhutan Development Bank Limited, Board Director for the SAARC Development Fund, and Druk Green Power Corporation. 

Before joining the party, he served as the Director for the Department of Macro-Fiscal and Development Finance in the Ministry of Finance. 

He is from Minjay gewog. Loday Tsheten is a father to a son and a daughter.

The party has so far declared 44 candidates to contest for the upcoming elections.
