Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) declared Pema Norbu as its candidate from Chhoekhor-Tang constituency in Bumthang.

The 50-year-old has a Master’s degree in  Buddhist Philosophy and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Paro College of Education. He worked for more than 27 years as a teacher and principal.

Before joining politics, Pema Norbu served as the Education Monitoring Officer under the Ministry of Education and Skills Development.

The party said that he decided to join politics after being witness to the hardships and difficulties faced by many people in the rural communities while serving as a Dzongkhag Kidu officer in Trashigang.

Pema Norbu is a father of five.

Party stated that all 47 candidates have been confirmed and the party will declare them all by the end of this month. So far, the party has declared 43 candidates.
