He has a Bachelors degree from the Institute of Language and Culture Studies (ILCS) and worked as a Dzongkha coordinator in ACC before becoming an investigating officer.

Kuenzang Dorji said that he was concerned about the growing trend of unemployment in the country and coming from one of the developed dzongkhags, he has contemplated on creating job opportunities for youth. “Further, I was encouraged by the government’s support and focus on young entrepreneurship, which pushed me to resign from the civil service and start my business.”

He said that he opened the mineral water business to contribute towards addressing unemployment issue and to contribute to economic growth.

He claims that he has employed five women and seven men at his plant, which is now transferred to his father’s name.

Kuenzang Dorji said that with more than 60 percent of the population depending on the agriculture sector, it’s time to bring adequate policy interventions for effective and efficient agrarian reforms.
