Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) introduced its first six candidates from the eastern dzongkhags for the fourth parliamentary elections, yesterday.

The party introduced Chenga Tshewang, 32, as its candidate from Khar-Yurung constituency in Pemagatshel. He has a bachelor in business administration. He worked as a tour guide for over eight years.

Sonam Dhendup, 40, will contest from Nanong-Shumar constituency in Pemagatshel. He has a master’s degree in law. He served in the civil service for four years. He has operated a private law firm with his colleagues for more than eight years.




The party also introduced Dorji Tshering, 36, from Jomotshangkha-Martshala constituency in Samdrupjongkhar. He has a master’s degree in public policy.  He has served in the civil service for four years and a year in a UN agency.

Tenzin Namgyel, 43, is recontesting from Kanglung-Samkhar-Udzorong constituency in Trashigang. He has an MBA in Marketing and bachelor’s in Dzongkha  (Hons) with English. He worked as a journalist for more than 12 years and also served as a General Manager of Dungsam Cement Corporation Limited.




Jigme Dorji, 53-year-old, is also recontesting from Drametse-Ngatsang constituency in Mongar. He has a master’s degree in education and administration. He served for 24 years as an educationist and administrator.

Jigme Wangdi, 34, is the Party’s candidate from Wamrong constituency in Trashigang. He has a bachelor’s in education and served as a teacher for four years. He has started a startup called Ama Kharang dealing in kharang supply.
