Dechen Dolkar 

Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) declared its candidates for Trashiyangtse, Samtse, and Haa constituencies to contest for National Assembly elections. 

The party has declared, Tshering Tobgay, 32, as its candidate to represent Khamdang-Ramjar constituency in Trashiyangtse. 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Sherubtse College. Right after his graduation, he served as Mangmi of Yalang gewog from 2016 to 2021.

He has also contested for the post of gup in the last Local Government elections. He has been doing farming in his village. He is from Yarphel village in Yalang Gewog of Trashiyangtse. 

Sonam Lepcha, 28, will represent Phuentshopelri-Samtse constituency. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics & Geography from Sherubtse College.

He has worked in the private sector in various entities. He served as Human Resource and Administrative Officer at Azista Bhutan Healthcare Ltd and as a Marketing Executive at BM Enterprise. He also served as a Research Officer at APECS Consultancy.

He is from Medgang village under Norbugang Gewog in Samtse.

Sonam Peljore is DPT’s candidate for Sombaykha constituency in Haa.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bhutanese and Himalayan Studies from the College of Language and Cultural Studies. He served as a teacher at Denchukha Lower Secondary School. He is also an entrepreneur in Haa. He is from Balama under Samar gewog.

With this, the party has declared 19 candidates so far to contest for upcoming elections.
