Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) declared Tshedrup Dorji as its candidate for the Shompangkha constituency in Sarpang.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the Royal Thimphu College.

Tshedrup Dorji worked as a researcher with the Department of Agriculture for four years.

As a social worker Tshedrup Dorji founded the Youth Advocacy Network Bhutan and was actively involved in the civil society sector for over three years, implementing social initiatives for the youth development and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene).

Before joining DPT, he served as the national coordinator for a regional WASH network.

The party has so far declared 35 new candidates.

According to the party, three serving candidates, Dr Samdrup R Wangchuk from the Kanglung_Samkhar_Udzorong, Karma Thinley from Wamrong, and Dupthob from Boomdeling_Jamkhar constituency in Trashiyangtse will not re-contest.
