Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) declared three candidates from constituencies of Paro, Thimphu, and Trongsa yesterday to contest in the fourth National Assembly elections.

The party declared N Tandin Dorji, 59, as its candidate for Lamgong-Wangchang Constituency in Paro.

He has a Master of Education degree from the University of New Brunswick in Canada and a Bachelor of Education from the Samtse College of Education. He has 29 years of working experience and he is an educationist.

Namgyel Wangdi, 40, will represent DPT from North Thimphu Constituency. He is from Kabesa.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management (HRM) from the prestigious Gaedu College of Business Studies. He served as a Human Resource Manager/Administrative Officer in Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC) in 2011.

Namgyel Wangdi later assumed the role of Senior Liaison Officer in Kholongchhu Hydro Energy Limited in 2016 and served for 12 years in this position. 

The party declared Zhungchuk, 35,  from Darbab village of Nubi Gewog as its Nubi-Tangsibji constituency candidate from Trongsa. 

He has a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from North Bengal University, India. He served as a teacher at Burirampittayakhom School in Thailand. He has also served as a project manager from 2017 to 2020 in one of the private construction firms.

In 2021, Zhungchuk contested in the Local Government elections as a gup candidate.
