Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) declared the candidates for Dophuchen-Tading in Samtse and Athang –Thoedtso in Wangdue yesterday.

Taraman Ghalley from from Samtse has a bachelor’s in commerce (Honours) from St. Joseph’s College in Darjeeling, North Bengal, India. Upon completing his college, the 31-year-old returned to his village and has been running a poultry farm since then.

He served as one of the coordinators for DPT in the past parliamentary elections.

Kinga Kinga, 35, holds a Bachelors of Arts and Bachelors of Legislative Law (BA. LLB) from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. Kinga was elected the President of Bhutanese Student Association (BSA) in 2015.

He is a Bhutan’s Bar Council-certified private practising lawyer with experience and training in arbitration and mediation. The lawyer also worked for the American multinational chain of coffeehouses, Starbucks-Alshaya, in Kuwait for three years.

At home he had been in tailoring and hotel businesses.

If elected to the country’s legislature, Kinga wants to focus his work on strengthening the legislative, policy, and regulatory environment for the private sector to thrive.

The party has declared eight candidates till date.
