Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) declared candidates from Bongo-Chapcha and Phuentsholing constituencies in Chukha to contest for fourth National Assembly elections.

Sonam Pelden, 37, will represent DPT as its candidate from Bongo-Chapcha constituency.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, from Bangalore University in India in 2009. She was a former journalist and also an entrepreneur.

She worked as a reporter with Business Bhutan newspaper for three years and served as a media and comminution officer in the erstwhile Tourism Council of Bhutan.

She also owned and managed the Sonam Trophel Hotel since May 2021.

Natra Ghalley will represent the party from Phuentsholing Constituency.

The 32-year-old holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, from Subharti University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Prior to joining the party, he worked on various projects as a civil engineer in the private sector.

DPT has declared 33 candidates so far to contest for the upcoming elections.
