Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) declared its candidates from constituencies in Bumthang and Wangduephodrang to contest in the fourth National Assembly elections.

The party has declared Thinley Tshering, 32, as its candidate for Chhokhor-Tang Constituency from Bumthang.

He holds a BA degree in Language and Literature from the College of Language and Culture Studies. He is an entrepreneur. In 2016, he co-founded Dr Toilet, a venture dedicated to improving sanitation and hygiene in rural areas, and he also worked as a tour guide.

In 2019, he started commercial farming in his village. He is from Dazur village in Tang gewog.

Ugyen Tshering, 34, will represent the party from Nyishog-Saephu Constituency in Wangdue.

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bhutanese and Himalayan Studies from the College of Language and Culture Studies.

Before joining politics, he served as an Assistant Research Officer with the National Assembly.

He is from Phangyul gewog.

With this, the party has declared, 35 candidates so far to contest in the upcoming elections. They stated that they need only two more candidates to complete candidates of all constituencies.
