Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa (DTT) introduced their first three candidates from Thimphu, Paro and Punakha constituencies on August 27.
Their South Thimphu candidate for the 2023 parliamentary elections is Kinlay Dorjee. The 52-year-old is a two-time former thrompon.
He worked as an electrical engineer for 15 years with Bhutan Power Corporation and the Department of Power. “Kinlay Dorji specialises in power transmission and distribution and urban development, specifically, public transport, service delivery and infrastructure,” the DTT press release stated.
Sangay Dorji, 46, represents DTT from Lamgong-Wangchang constituency in Paro.
“Sangay Dorji specialises in renewable energy, climate change, environment management and industries.”
He served in the Ministry of Economic Affairs for nine years and went on to become a consultant for the Punatsangchhu I and II projects. He also worked as the national energy and environment expert for UN Development Program in Bhutan.
Thuendrel fields Kinzang Thinley as its Kabji-Talo candidate from Punakha. The 43-year-old has eight years of experience as a cinematographer with Bhutan Broadcasting Service and seven years as a tour guide.
“He specialises in film and television production and has a broad understanding ofthe ever-evolving media industry and advancing digital technology,” the DTT press release stated.
DTT President Kinga Tshering said that the first three candidates broadly represented the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) aspect of the party’s implement that is critical in fulfilling the national ambition of expanding digital and economic horizons.
