Trongsa dzongkhag court convicted a non-Bhutanese labourer and sentenced him to five months five days in prison for sexually harassing a female De-Suup on duty. 

The incident occurred on August 25 last year when the De-Suup was on duty at Dzongkhalum checkpoint. He was arrested on the same day and remained in police custody until January 29.

The man has accepted the charges in court.

The victim submitted that she didn’t want any compensation. 

The man works for one of the contractors of Mangdechhu Hydropower Authority. Kuensel learnt that he was handed over to the company to send him home.
