Foreign Minister Dr Tandi Dorji launched a website to guide export from Bhutan to Australia yesterday.

The guide titled “Expanding Horizons: A Guide for export growth from Bhutan to Australia” provides information on locally-grown herbs, spices, teas and edible flowers among others. It was developed through the study of Bhutan Blossoms—a local agriculture product exporter in Punakha.

The website guides exporters through its four different web pages that have detailed information regarding the product selection, registration process and approval, inspection and shipment, export documentation and export rates and charges.

According to the press release from the foreign ministry, the business entities and relevant agencies involved in the food export industry in Bhutan such as policymakers, small-scale food processors, cooperatives and researchers are assisted in meeting the required export components.

The Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Canberra, Australia with support from International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and Western Sydney University (WSU) initiated the website in support of exporters and researchers in Bhutan.
