A hands-on training in fire detection and fire fighting system was conducted at the reconstructed Trashigang dzong on October 10. Some 44 participants from the dzongkhag administration, monk body and police attended the daylong workshop organised by the Division for Conservation of Heritage Sites of the Department of Culture.

Officials from the division said the workshop was conducted for the first responders to make them aware of the fire risk and disasters in heritage sites.

The installation of fire detection system and risk mitigation works at the dzong was done with support from Bhutan Foundation through funding aids from Prince Claus Fund and World Monuments Fund.

The Indian government funded the dzong’s conservation works.
