Rinchen is standing as the National Council (NC) candidate from Zhemgang.
The 51-year-old from Dudiphhug, has Masters degree in social forestry from the University of the Philippines.
After graduation, he served as forestry officer and went on to serve as a monitoring and evaluation officer with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Khangma, Trashigang.
He has also served as dzongrab in Lhuentse and Samdrupjonkhar and worked with Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation (HIS) as a freelance consultant.
Before resigning in 2015, he worked with Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited for about three years as a regional manager.
“I am confident about the elections as I think my candidature is quite good based on the qualification, experience and maturity that I possess,” Rinchen said.
He said that he would focus on reviewing and discussing policies, laws, and legislations to help people.
“I am hopeful that the people would exercise their votes sensibly and elect a dynamic candidate who is capable to represent the people of Zhemgang,” said Rinchen.
