New Delhi-After spending two days in Delhi, meeting with different government leaders and private businessmen, Lyonchhen and his team will head to Mumbai today.

Lyonchhen met the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at the Rastrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, yesterday.

Following the meetings with the president, Lyonchhen visited Raj Ghat, a special place for Mahatma Gandhi, laid wreath as mark of respect and signed the visitor’s book.

In the afternoon, Lyonchhen met with Raj Kumar Singh, the Minister of Power, New, and Renewable Energy of India.

Lyonchhen also met Gautam Adani, a business tycoon of a company that builds and runs ports in India.

In the evening, Lyonchhen attended an event organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The event was held to honor Lyonchhen by the federation. FICCI is a group of Indian businesses that collaborate to support the growth of Indian businesses globally.

Many Indian tour companies were present at the event. Lyonchhen discussed with them ways to increase tourism in Bhutan. Lyonchhen mentioned plans to simplify the process for tourists to visit Bhutan and to improve travel between Bhutan and India.

At the event, Lyonchhen highlighted that Bhutan is a wonderful destination to visit due to its stunning natural landscapes and distinctive culture. Lyonchhen expressed the desire for visitors to experience and appreciate both aspects during their time in Bhutan.

Some tour companies shared their plans to introduce flights to Bhutan in the near future, expecting a high demand from tourists. They believe that many travellers will be interested in visiting Bhutan in the coming months.

Before heading to Mumbai, Lyonchhen will deliver a speech at the India Today Conclave titled “GNH for the 21st Century.”

Lyonchhen’s visit highlights the strong friendship between Bhutan and India. Both countries share a mutual friendship to support each other and work with a common understanding .
