The Government of India released the final tranche of Nu 800 million towards the Trade Support Facility (TSF), according to a press release the Indian embassy in Thimphu issued yesterday.
The Government of India extended a TSF of Nu 4 billion for the 12th Plan for development of trade infrastructure, export promotion, trade automation and support to Bhutan’s private sector.
The TSF funded the development of three dry ports; Industrial Park in Motanga, Integrated Cold Storage Facilities in Wangdue, Sarpang and Trashigang and a fuel depot at Mongar. It also supported Startup and Cottage and Small Industry (CSI) Development Flagship Program such as the Startup Centre in Dhamdhum, setting up of business incubation centres and FabLabs in five colleges under RUB, and holding of CSI fairs, among others.
It also supported the various activities of the National Organic Flagship Program, the Bhutan Chamber for Commerce and Industry, modernising taxation system and improving service delivery, according to the press release.
