Nima Dorji bagged the first position at the 2016 Himalayan Marathon on May 29 in Paro. He participated in the 42km full marathon organised by Blue Poppy Tours and Treks in collaboration with 2:09 Events, a UK based company. In the women’s category, Chimi Dema, 19, won the first prize. She competed in a 21km race. A total of 120 runners from seven countries including Bhutan took part in the marathon. Some 20 runners from the USA, Germany, UK, Holland, Singapore and New Zealand along with 100 local runners from Paro and Thimphu took part in the race.
