High altitude isolated places in western and central Bhutan is expected to receive light snowfall in the next 12 hours, according to the National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology (NCHM). The rest of the country is expected to receive light rain.
This is due to the persistent cloudy weather condition.
The weather has been partly cloudy for the past two days. At the same time, there is moisture feeding from the Bay of Bengal, causing cloudy weather, and sudden drop in temperature.
“Due to this, there was sudden change in weather and high altitudes experienced light snow. The system is being monitored closely and any changes in the forecast will be updated,” said NCHM.
