Man found dead in P’ling

Police are investigating

Incident: A 23-year-old man was found dead near the Youth Development Fund (YDF) building in Phuentsholing.

It has been learned that the deceased was from Denchukha in Samtse. The deceased was found hanging from a rod on a culvert drain, eyewitnesses told Kuensel.

One eyewitness said that many people had seen the man near a bush besides the culvert on the morning of June 26.

“It looked like he was there to relieve himself,” an eyewitness said, adding that the body was had been just a few inches above the ground and nobody had noticed. “It was only later that people started to doubt and found the body hanging.”

Meanwhile, police are yet to determine if the man committed suicide or was murdered.

Police in Phuentsholing said that they are investigating the case.

According to the eyewitnesses, the man’s hands and legs were tied which indicates foul play.

“Who would tie up and hang himself,” one eyewitness said.

However, no major bruises was found on the deceased’s body. The deceased’s wallet and an iPhone were also found on the body.

According to an employee of a workshop located nearby, the deceased had arrived from Dubai not even a week ago. The deceased had worked there for some time.
