Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation held their 16th edition of the Thimphu half marathon, dedicated to the coronation celebrations of His Majesty The King. Over 500 runners took part in the marathon.

The run started at 7am from the Changlimithang stadium parking.

The marathon for the adults began and ended at Changlimithang stadium after runners return from Namseling.

For the youths they started from Changlimithang stadium and turning point at O Plaza,Olakha and ending back at Changlimithang.

Men and women completed the 21km marathon while for youths they ran 10km marathon.

The top runners in the youth category boys finished the race seconds part. Pema Dhendup was first at 35mins 15secs, followed by Jigme Wangchuk at 35mins 54secs, and Sagar Subba completing in 36mins 49secs was third.

In the girls category, Norbu Dema finished first  crossing the finish line in 44mins 29secs, Jigme Seldon took second place at 44mins 37secs and in third place was Chimmi Peldon at 45mins 18secs.

Among 21km women runners, Goma Pradhan finished first in 1hr 32mins 46secs, in second place as Kinzang Lhamo finishing in 1hr 35mins 2secs, and Kinga Wangmo came third finishing  the race in 1hr 41mins 2secs.

Jamphel Choda completed at 1hr 17mins 24secs taking first place, Kabji Tshering came second with 1hr 17mins 45secs, and Dechen Ugyen was third in 1hr 18mins 10secs.
