The body of a 32-year-old truck driver from Domkhar in Bumthang was found on March 5 after two months since he went missing.

He went missing on December 29, 2021 from Thrumshingla pass leaving the truck he was driving near the choeten on the Bumthang-Mongar highway. His body was found at Gyezamchu 10km before reaching Ura.

The body was spotted by Department of Roads workers after seeing eagles hovering over the area.

Police identified the body as the missing driver after recovering his Citizenship Identity Card in his pants pocket.




According to the police his body had completely decomposed from head to pelvis and was partially submerged in a stream. His phone was also found in the stream beside his body.

According to police, the cause of the death is unknown. He had left his slippers, knife and bags on a culvert behind his truck.

Police, de-suups and volunteers searched for the deceased for more than two weeks.

The family members conducted all funeral rites after he was not found. His body was handed over to his family in the presence of a local government leader.
