… police investigating foul play 

Police discovered the body of a 24-year-old woman on August 14 near the new fuel station on the way to Wangsisina, Thimphu. 

A resident informed the police about the body. Police personnel found the body around 6:30pm in the evening.    

Senior Superintendent of police Thimphu station, Colonel Namgay said that the case is being investigated as they suspect foul play.

“We have taken the body to the hospital for a post-mortem,” he said. 

Colonel Namgay said that on August 13 her father reported to police that the woman was missing. Police have detained her boyfriend and is being interrogated since they suspect foul play in circumstances leading to her death.  

The woman worked in a private consultancy firm in Thimphu.
