SD Cryogenic Gases Pvt Ltd, a foreign direct investment (FDI) company, was inaugurated yesterday. It is expected to help India to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The company will export the liquid oxygen and nitrogen to Northeast states like Assam to combat the Covid-19 from the first week of November.
The officials from the company said that the biggest oxygen plant in the country will produce 40 metric tonnes of liquid oxygen and nitrogen a day using air from the atmosphere as raw material.
The officials said the company was registered in 2018 and ordered the plant towards the end of 2019, but could not establish the plant as soon as anticipated, because they could not bring in the experts due to the pandemic.
The press release from the company stated that agencies under the His Majesty The King’s leadership facilitated safe entry for all the required workers and materials, which allowed the company to start production.
