The entire nation is brimming with joy and enthusiasm following the news shared yesterday morning by Their Majesties regarding the expectation of their third Royal child.

Their Majesties, The Druk Gyalpo and Gyaltsuen, announced that Her Majesty is expecting Their third child, due in early autumn, and expressed their gratitude to the people for their unwavering well wishes and prayers.

Social media platforms were flooded with expressions of happiness, prayers, and congratulatory messages for Their Majesties soon after the official announcement was made on His Majesty The King’s Facebook page.

Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering said, “Blessings come in various forms. Today’s news was one such. The nation feels richer and spiritually elated by the news today. I celebrated in my humble ways by lighting a butter lamp and saying my prayers at home.”

“During our tenure, Royal births have given us so much hope and optimism. It is not just in His Majesty’s deeds and words, but such progressive blessings in the Royal family are symbolic to the nation,” Lyonchhen said. “We are talking about reforms that will secure the country for generations. The Royal birth today is also illustrative of the security and prosperity of future generations of Bhutanese,” he said.

Extending his heartfelt Tashi Delek to Their Majesties, Chief Justice Chogyal Dago Rigdzin was quick to say that “this precious autumn gift is a symbol of continuity, blessings of peace, and prosperity” in the land of Drukyul. He expressed overwhelming joy and excitement. “We are overjoyed and thrilled with this heartwarming news.”

Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Deki Pema, said that this joyous news exemplifies the collective merit and good fortune of the Bhutanese people. Chairperson of the Royal Civil Service Commission, Karma Hamu Dorjee, joined the nation in celebrating the wonderful news, offering sincere Tashi Delek to Their Majesties.

Political parties extend congratulations

As Bhutan rejoices in the blissful anticipation of the third Royal Child, political parties extended their warmest congratulations and heartfelt best wishes to Their Majesties.

The President of Bhutan Tendrel Party, Pema Chewang, expressed extreme delight upon hearing the news of the expectant third Royal child.

This bodes well for the long and glorious reign of our benevolent Wangchuck Dynasty and the continued great fortune, prosperity, and happiness of the Bhutanese people.”

President of Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa, Kinga Tshering, welcomed the announcement of the third Royal child with the same sense of joy and reverence felt during the announcements of Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck seven years ago and Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck a few years back. “Although a Druk Gyalsem might be a staple fancy this time, a matching charm alongside The Gyaltsuen, we believe a child born into the Bhutanese royalty will always make for a charming reception anyway. The blessed Bhutanese across the nation will celebrate,” he said.

President of the People’s Democratic Party, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, shared his heartfelt joy. “We are filled with immense happiness as we eagerly await the arrival of the newest member of our Royal Family. This blessed event holds the promise of bringing even more peace, prosperity, and happiness to our beloved Drukyul. We eagerly await this precious blessing and the future it holds for our nation.”

Happiness

Former Chief Justice, Sonam Tobgye, fondly called Agay Lyonpo, said that this wonderful news assures the strength of Bhutan’s Monarchy, which is blessed by the Precious Three Jewels and serves as a source of continuity and fountain of happiness for the Bhutanese.

Former Chief Election Commissioner, Dasho Kunzang Wangdi, said the Royal announcement of the third Royal Child marks the beginning of a new era filled with even greater promises and a brighter future under the visionary leadership of Their Majesties.

A prominent businesswoman, Phub Zam, expressed her excitement and anticipation for the arrival of the newest member of the Royal Family. “My family and I are thrilled and overjoyed by this incredible announcement.”

A red scarf officer summed up the significance. “The first cry of a baby is the most beautiful sound ever. But for an extended family like Bhutan, it brings both joy and a wonderful sense of stability.”

Meanwhile, as the news spread like wildfire, people across the country are excited too.

“I was watering my fields when I heard the news shared on WeChat,” said farmer Kinley of Lobesa. “We are happier than Their Majesties as we welcome the news of a third Royal child,” he said.

“I hope it will be a beautiful princess like her mother,” his wife, Namgay said, cutting Kinley’s conversation short.
