Thimphu City FC 4-3 Paro FC

Thimphu City FC (TCFC) humbled Paro FC (PFC) with 4-3 win at the ongoing 2020 BoB Bhutan Premier League (BPL) yesterday at Woochu Sports Arena in Paro.

This was a major comeback from the city players in the last three matches in the BPL.

Three minutes into the game, PFC stunned the opponent with an early lead from forward Yeshey Dorji, but the TCFC’s Karma Shedrup Tshering equalised in the 19th minute. TCFC mounted pressure and striker Kencho Tobgay netted his debut goal in 27th minute.

The first half completed 2-1 for TCFC.

Chencho Gyeltshen (CG7) was heavily marked by his former team mates.  Next half saw almost parity in possession.

In the 67th minute, PFC got a penalty shot, but the striker Chencho Gyeltshen missed the opportunity. Within a minute, TCFC responded with counter-attack and Orgyen Wangchuk Tshering added a goal.

CG7 scored one in the 73rd minute. PFC regained their game spirit and pushed decisively. CG7 again surprised the opponent with  brace in the 77th minute.

The game was headed for the draw, but the TCFC’s Sherub Dorji snatched a deciding goal in the 82nd minute.

PFC suffered a two consecutive loss in the home ground and has lost three more points. Paro lost to Transport United FC 2-1 on August 8.

TCFC had a 1-1 draw against Ugyen Academy FC and 2-1 wins against Paro United FC in an earlier matches. TCFC will face High Quality United FC on September 25 at Changlimithang Stadium. PFC will play Tensung FC on September 27 at MTC ground in Wangdue.

Ugyen Academy FC defeated Transport United FC 1-0 at their home ground in Punakha on September 19.

Druk Stars FC will play Paro United FC on September 24 at Changlimithang Stadium.
