Meeting the people of Zhemgang yesterday, PDP President Tshering Tobgay expressed gratitude for choosing a new party and thanked the former Opposition Leader Dorji Wangdi for representing Panbang for the past 15 years.

Tshering  Tobgay assured the supporters from other parties that PDP is open to incorporating their ideas for the country’s benefit.

Addressing concerns about fines and penalties on PDP, he said that such information is being repeatedly asked in public debates by other parties to influence people.

“People are concerned because few are intentionally spreading false information,” Tshering Tobgay said.

Regarding Panbang town’s development, Tshering Tobgay shared PDP’s commitment to upgrading the town and attributed its initial town planning to the party’s previous term in government.

He highlighted promises to improve roads like Trongsa to Gelephu, Tingtibi to Panbang, and Panbang to Nganglam.

He also pledged to ensure a reliable electricity supply in Panbang.

While acknowledging that both parties promise chain link fencing for farmers, Tshering Tobgay urged people to consider which party can truly achieve this goal, given the substantial funding required for it.

Seeking support in DPT’s stronghold, he asked Panbang residents to support PDP this time for positive changes.

During the meeting, Tobgay personally sought support saying,  “I came here to seek your support, and I am sure you will.”

A voter assured the party president that people support PDP due to its readiness regarding economic recovery plans. In response, Tshering Tobgay said that the Nu 15 billion economic plan will benefit all sectors and each and every Bhutanese.

Tshering Tobgay also promised to address issues related to home construction permits and the conversion of wetlands to dry land if PDP forms the government.

Despite voters choosing a different party this time, people sayid that opposition fatigue in the past could be a reason for the change this time.
